This image is from the first fire I ever covered, the Summit Fire in 2008. The Summit Fire was early for the season in 2008 and started along Summit Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Watsonville and Morgan Hill. This is still one of my favorite fire images and shows a fire captain using his radio to give directions to his engineer on where to bring the truck so they could help douse the flames that were threatening a home.
